Discussion on Spirituality

Clive Granville – Sunday 7pm 2026 Oct 11

Welcome

Welcome to my presentation on the nature of reality and spirituality.

My name is Clive Granville. For many years I practiced as an engineer. Since 2007, I have been involved in spirituality, social work and research, but have had spiritual experiences most of my life.

I will refer to notes to keep myself on track, concise and precise. I will pause to get comments and questions.

The discussion tonight is about reality, the nature of reality, and whether there is a parallel spirit world. I will be giving you my opinion and experiences.

Credibility, Skepticism and Cognitive Dissonance

This topic is one where most people have very firm views. When most people hear something that clashes with or is disruptive to their own views, they usually reject it – sometimes with a lot of emotion.

The reason is that humans avoid cognitive dissonance. The definition is the psychological discomfort experienced when a person holds conflicting beliefs, values, or behaviours, and they are motivated to reduce the inconsistency.

What People Believe

Roughly 80% of the global population believes in God or gods (or a higher power/spiritual reality), while hard atheists make up around 10%. Some do not believe in God but do believe in ghosts and spirits.

The theists believe that God has always existed without cause and created the universe. Many believe that God caused the Big Bang. Atheists believe that the Big Bang has no need for God and that Evolution and Emergence are moved forward by dumb chance. Atheists claim that religion is irrational, unnecessary, causes harm, is not needed for morality and enables extremism. Early science also included the concept of vitalism.

There are some who say that our universe may be a simulation in a computer.

Victor Frankel’s “Man’s Search for Meaning. Life in a Concentration camp

Another time we were at work in a trench. The dawn was grey around us; grey was the sky above; grey the snow in the pale light of dawn; grey the rags in which my fellow prisoners were clad, and grey their faces. I was again conversing silently with my wife, or perhaps I was struggling to find the reason for my sufferings, my slow dying. In a last violent protest against the hopelessness of imminent death, I sensed my spirit piercing through the enveloping gloom. I felt it transcend that hopeless, meaningless world, and from somewhere I heard a victorious “Yes” in answer to my question of the existence of an ultimate purpose. At that moment a light was lit in a distant farmhouse, which stood on the horizon as if painted there, in the midst of the miserable grey of a dawning morning in Bavaria. “Et lux in tenebris lucet”—and the light shineth in the darkness. For hours I stood hacking at the icy ground. The guard passed by, insulting me, and once again I communed with my beloved. More and more I felt that she was present, that she was with me; I had the feeling that I was able to touch her, able to stretch out my hand and grasp hers. The feeling was very strong: she was there. Then, at that very moment, a bird flew down silently and perched just in front of me, on the heap of soil which I had dug up from the ditch, and looked steadily at me.

An experience similar to one I had with regard to a bird after my late wife passed away.

Questions relating to Reality and Spirit

  • Who made God?
    • Why did God decide to make the universe and humans?
    • Why does God not prove his existence?
  • Do only humans have souls?
    • Is there a difference between soul and spirit?
    • If humans evolved, what kind of soul did pre-humans have?
    • If all souls are eternal and go to the afterlife, how many are there?
    • What shape and form do souls have?
    • What is the afterlife?
  • Is there a purpose and meaning to life?
  • If one says there is no God then:
    • What was there before the Big Bang?
    • What are the chances that life began from lifeless chemicals?
    • What is consciousness?
    • Why does the universe appear to be designed?
    • Why are there now intractable problems and contradictions in physics?

Rationale for Existence

Humankind has long searched for the reasons for our existence and the ultimate origin- the Prime Cause. Until the Belgian priest Georges Lemaître proposed “The Big Bang” it was assumed that the universe was eternal and had always existed. One obvious problem with that concept is why the Earth and life appear to be at a distinct and limited stage.

An eternity of evolution should, in theory,  have produced an infinitely evolved species. For a while, I thought that it might just be so, and that life had propagated throughout the universe to make it one infinitely large and complex intelligence. With nothing left to do, it would do various simulations for “amusement”.

Nick Bostrom concluded that the probability is that we live in a computer-simulated universe. Andrew Dabrowski made three comments:

1.   The “outer” universe may have completely different laws from the “inner” one so that technological infeasibility falls away

2.   One must differentiate:

a. hypotheses that can be tested scientifically and

b. hypotheses that might be true.

3.   The computer just needs to keep a step ahead of the virtual physicists.

The issue of proof also arose, and another comment was “Although there are no obvious ways to test it, one should find inconsistencies, like contradictory laws of physics.”

An interesting comment was that reincarnation was simply a matter of “cutting and pasting” a section of code corresponding to the “soul” or the “essence” of each person.

Theistic Scientific Arguments for God

  • Science explains how, but not who, what, and why
  • The Big Bang requires a cause outside the universe
  • The universe appears designed for Life – favours complex chemistry
    • The probability of fine-tuning by random chance is almost zero
  • DNA is a complex informational code
    • Chemical processes cause degradation of complex organisms
    • No experiments show how life could begin
    • Life requires right-handed amino acids rather than a natural mix
  • Cambrian explosion of new body plans and genetic information

Atheist Arguments Against the Existence of God

  • The Problem of Evil – Cannot have a loving God who allows suffering
  • Lack of evidence and burden of proof – personal experiences are flawed
  • Science has explanations for natural processes
  • God would not hide himself
  • Religion show inconsistency and diversity
  • God’s attributes are illogical and contradictory
  • Belief is driven by fear and control

My Hypothesis or View Regarding Reality and Spirit

  • The only real thing that exists is an infinite Cosmic Mind.
  • The Cosmic Mind may have evolved through eternity as life spread.
  • Or the Cosmic Mind grew from small neuron-like particles.
    • The small neuron-like particles were formed instead of one Big Bang.
    • The speed of light does not exist in the Cosmic Mind.
  • The Cosmic Mind is alone, bored, and amoral.
  • It created the universe to entertain itself, like a video game in that mind – a dream or illusion.
  • God and Satan are the key players in the game.
    • Angels and demons are also part of the game
  • Souls exist in all forms of life
    • Most souls reincarnate, some are terminated, and some can be cloned.
    • Souls evolve as life evolves.
    • Souls use spirit matter to interact with the physical world.
  • Spirits take the shape of the lifeforms and decay when the lifeform dies.
  • Non-physical beings can influence, help, or hinder lifeforms.
  • The laws of physics can be broken – provided it is not obvious.

Why I think my Hypothesis is Correct

  1. The biggest reason is that it is hugely explanatory.
  2. It is consistent and logical – both internally and with what is observed.
  3. There are many historical beliefs that agree with my hypothesis.
  4. Current science supports, or does not challenge, my view.
  5. I see no explanation of cells & proteins acting as one machine
  6. It is consistent with narratives about historical people.
  7. My personal experiences are consistent with the experiences of others

My hypothesis is somewhat like concepts in the Hindu religion.

Book “On God” by Norman Mailer. These are some observations of his writing and beliefs:

Reincarnation is a possibility; a limbo where souls stay for a while is a possibility; souls can cease to exist if God wills it; past life memories are left behind but instincts may remain; he could not become a Catholic because he believes God is limited; there may be some sort of spiritual evolution, possibly an evolving God; even amoeba might have souls; he accepted the possibility of evil spirits and demons; the Devil adores Fundamentalism because it stops people from thinking; telepathy seems to work; he sees the beauty and function of ritual; muses over possible Intelligent Design; and appreciates that some prayers may be answered; he accepts that Christ taught some profound truths.

Back cover text from Norman Mailer’s “On God” (An Uncommon Conversation):

“I feel no attachment, whatsoever, to organized religion,” wrote Norman Mailer. “I see God, rather, as a Creator, as the greatest artist. I see human beings as His most developed artworks.” And in this collection of moving, amusing, probing, and uncommon dialogues conducted over three years before his death, Mailer establishes his own system of belief, one that rejects both organized religion and atheism. He presents instead a view of our world as one created by an artistic God who often succeeds but can also fail in the face of determined opposition by contrary powers in the universe with whom war is waged for the souls of humans. Mailer weighs the possibilities of “intelligent design,” at the same time avowing that sensual pleasures were bestowed on us by God; he finds fault with the Ten Commandments—because adultery, he avers, may be a lesser evil than others suffered in a bad marriage; and he holds that technology was the Devil’s most brilliant creation. In short, Mailer is original and unpredictable in this inspiring verbal journey, in which “God needs us as much as we need God.”

(Confessions of a Buddhist Atheist, Stephen Batchelor):

But if the proof of rebirth finally depends on having faith in the reports made by others of their subjective experiences, then how is it any different from claiming that God exists because mystics—why would they lie?—claim to have had direct experience of God? On what grounds should I choose to believe a Buddhist meditator rather than a Christian mystic or, for that matter, someone who claims to have been abducted by aliens and taken to a spaceship docked behind Alpha Centauri? All may be equally moral, sincere, and honest people, passionately convinced in the truth of what they have experienced, but their claims are going to persuade only those who are already predisposed to believe them.

And…

The view that a human being consists of a pristine spiritual soul temporarily attached to a corrupt and ephemeral body was widespread throughout the ancient world. All the way from Baranasi to Athens, there were sages and philosophers who believed that after physical death the soul would be reborn according to its good or evil deeds, either as a human, an animal, or some other form of life. Salvation, therefore, entailed the systematic disassociation of the soul from the body, which was achieved through austere living, philosophical reflection, and contemplative practice. Such disciplines led one to realize that the true nature of one’s soul has nothing to do with the body but is identical to the transcendent reality of God. The goal, therefore, is to achieve mystical union of the individual soul with the Absolute.

Evidence for My Views

Before I tell you some of what I have experienced, I need to talk about facts, opinions, propaganda, puffery, lies, mistakes, and hallucinations.

The only truth anyone can be certain of is “I think, therefore I am” which is a quote from philosopher Rene Descartes.

I assign probabilities to what might be true, and nothing gets above 99%.

You should ask yourselves, “Is he exaggerating or even telling tall stories with no basis in fact?” I do not mind you challenging me or saying so because my experiences have been so unusual. When I come across people with stories that are all too impossible, I ask questions, a sort of cross examination. When I see that people avoid direct answers, want to change the subject, and have contradictions in their story, then I conclude that they are usually making it up to impress people.

People often challenge my accounts of events by saying that my memory is faulty and point to instances in the law courts where people have either erroneous or distorted memories of what they witnessed. Online, I have been accused of lying and hallucinating.

I can tell you that, until the last few years, my memory has been super-excellent. The other aspect of recalling unusual events is that they are memorable for the very reason that they are unusual, so I commit them to memory and review them repeatedly for inconsistency. Many of these I recorded in writing and so over the years they have not changed.

Some Experiences

I am 77 years old and have been blessed with a very interesting life. I was born in Rhodesia, worked in South Africa, and immigrated to the United States. I worked there for 15 years, came back to South Africa then emigrated to New Zealand. After six years there I came back to Johannesburg. I also visited other countries and experienced their cultures.

  16. 1996 & 2006 Subdued bully at university residence & violent parolee – with spirit help
  17. 2007-2011 Taken part in various spirit practices

There are three possibilities to explain the many unusual events in my life. The first is that they never happened. The second is that the supernatural and God do not exist and that there are some ‘natural’ explanations. These include hallucinations, brain malfunctions, human imaginings, confirmation bias, self-fulfilling prophecy, sleep paralysis, coincidence/luck/chance, mistake, the placebo effect, pareidolia, and sometimes just a perceptive mind. The third is that God and the supernatural do exist, and that Spirit and God have directed the many events I have experienced.

The Rules of Spirit

There are some spiritual rules in the “game”. If one works with the rules, one can get an advantage.

  • One cannot prove spirits and the supernatural
  • They are not consistent, but one can achieve a high percentage of success
  • One needs to do good and think good thoughts to avoid demons
  • Avoid putting a curse on people – let God carry out justice
  • If one’s path is learning, there is both pain and pleasure
  • If one abuses an allowed gift, it will cease
  • Small prayers are often granted – not big ones
  • God is okay with disbelief, provided one does not convert others
  1. The Cosmic Mind

At a party I ate a brownie, not knowing it was mixed with marijuana. I started to feel strange. The third ‘reality’ was mind-blowing. It seemed that the universe, as we know it, is just in the imagination of a vast intelligence which is the Ultimate Reality. It exists in a realm or dimension without matter, space or time. It is unique and alone.

With nothing else to do, it invents different universes in its mind. I was aware of my identity as part of the memory, but I was also one with the Entity. It was as though the Entity had woken up and was mulling over the dream.

The Entity decided to carry on with the ‘dream’ and it would continue where the dream had ended. I would know and remember what the Ultimate Reality was but would not be sure if that was the true reality or only a hallucination caused by marijuana. I considered whether I had experienced God.

The Entity was certainly the Creator. However, it had none of the characteristics one usually associates with God. It was neither good nor bad. It did not get involved but simply ‘observed’. Observing meant that the universe was a portion of the entity’s mind and the other portion was aware of everything happening in the universe portion.

  • The Afterlife Visit

A few months after my late wife’s death, I did not feel well. I went to a spiritual woman who suggested that I try Reiki. It was not long before I found myself in a different dimension, not as a person, but as a brightly colored swirl. I was with my late wife, who was in a similar form.

What stunned me the most was the transition to a total absence of worry, fear, or pain – no worry about money, taxes, death, or where the next meal is coming from. People talk about such a state, but it is a very different matter to experience it. It is like a sighted person describing to a blind person what it is like to see things. This year I spoke with a visitor to Hooglands who had died as a child, and she described the same sensations.

The woman told me I was gone a long time, and she allowed me time to return. My impression of the afterlife was that it was like a country: good souls in good ‘places’ and bad souls suffering in bad ‘places’ and a range of in-between places for ‘in-between souls’.

  • Dying in My Dreams

In two of the dreams, I was in the Middle Ages and fighting others using long thin swords known as rapiers and was tricked each time. I was skewered, one time in the neck, and one time in the stomach. There was pain, shock, and death.

On these occasions, I died in my dream and experienced the afterlife. In the first dream, I appeared before a panel, with representatives from Heaven and Hell. I was being judged. The people from Hell said I had not done anything to deserve going there and the people from Heaven said the same. The result was that they agreed to ‘send me back’. I woke up the next morning but remembered the dream with absolute clarity.

The next time, I was a point of light in a dimension with nothing in it. I became aware of a similar discussion leading to a similar conclusion, which was that I had not achieved anything very good and had done nothing very evil. This time, they decided my soul should just cease to exist. The light that was my soul got dimmer and went out. Once again, I awoke in the morning.

It might be that a person’s earthly life determines how the soul fared in the afterlife. It might also be that some souls cease to exist because either they are terminally evil, or they have wasted their lives and achieved nothing.

  • Ghost of Man just Killed

Late at night I was reading in my room at the back of the house. My mother and two brothers were asleep in their rooms at the front of the house. My father was working on-site somewhere. There was a squealing of tires in the road outside as someone braked hard for the new traffic lights that had been installed on the corner.

There was complete silence because there were no traffic or background noises. I heard slow heavy footsteps coming down the passage, which had wooden floors.

I knew the front door was locked and it occurred to me that there was a ghost walking down the passage. Then I wondered if there had been an accident outside and I recalled the story I had heard about my mother’s friend and the bloodied vision.

I stuck my head under the sheets and listened. When the steps reached the middle of the house, the sound stopped. There was a concrete floor in the dining room. I hoped it would just carry on out through the back door.

The steps began again in my room. It was a large room with a wooden floor, and my bed was in the corner furthest from the door. Now I felt really scared. When I heard the heavy breathing, I was frightened. I thought I might be hearing my own breathing, and I put my hand on my nose. I still heard breathing.

The steps stopped next to my bed. I closed my eyes. The source of the breathing came closer… and just when it seemed that contact of some sort would be made… a siren sounded one ‘whoop’ briefly outside. There was a sudden intake of breath from the ghost and then silence.

I listened to the sound of the dog getting off my brother’s bed, then the sounds of my mother and brother getting up. I heard the heavy key unlock the big door and I heard their voices. After a while, everyone went to bed and fell asleep. So did I. The next day, my brother told me that a man on a bicycle had been hit by a car and killed.

If ghosts exist, why did it seek me out? It was all too close to the reality of what happened for me to have dreamed of it.

  • Hypnotized Girl, Remote Viewing, Foreseeing the Future

With a group of friends, I hypnotized the young sister of one girl. I realized she could go into an extremely deep trance.

I asked if she could see into another friend’s house some blocks away? She affirmed she could. She told us what the remote girl was thinking and planning – deciding on what clothes and jewelry to wear.

Her plans were to go to the shops but she decided to come to where we were to ask if we want to go to a movie. In those days, not only were there no cell phones, but only a privileged few had telephones.

I asked what time she would arrive and what she would say. Standard greeting but with non-standard phrases also.

I had to meet my mother in town about that time, but I wanted to stay to see what happened. I asked if my mother would be on time. I was told she would be 25 minutes late.

To the minute, as predicted, there was a knock on the door. There was the girl dressed exactly as described. Her words came out exactly as we were told. She just stood there as everyone burst out laughing and could not stop.

We questioned her and found out that what had been described had happened. My mother arrived at exactly the time Mia said she would.

It was the last time I did any serious hypnotizing. Both the other kids and I sensed that we were dealing with some spooky stuff that we did not fully understand.

  • Mental Telepathy Experiment

I was reading a book about telepathy one night. Impulsively, I decided to do a test. I looked at the clock and thought hard. I wanted Fran to check the time and remember it. The next day, I asked Fran if anything strange had happened the previous evening.

She told me that it was funny I should ask. She looked at the clock and the time. For some reason, the time was important to her and so she got out of bed and went to the kitchen to check it. It was nine thirty-five pm.

That was the exact time I had been concentrating on and it was an impulse. I tried to do it again, but it did not work. However, it sure seemed like proof that telepathy was possible, even if it was only personal proof and not scientific proof.

  • Reality Glitch

I was building the cottage on the New Zealand farm. I was about to trim the last plywood floorboard and had laid it on the corner without securing it. I had a circular saw in my hand. Something on the farm distracted me and then I stepped onto the edge.

The board tilted forward and I went down with it. It was a 2.5-meter drop. There were several stakes in that area to mark out the drainage. My analysis of the incident would show that I should have fallen forward and landed with my stomach, body, or head on the stakes. Death or serious injury should have been the result.

The next thing I knew was that I was standing upright with the saw in my hand, with the large heavy board upright behind me against the house foundation. I have no memory from the time I stepped forward to the time I was standing still. I had no pain in my feet, or my knees, or anywhere. My feeling was that it could not happen without spirit help.

  • Driving a Demon Out

At a spiritual event in Magaliesberg, we greeted a young man in his thirties who was quite friendly. My late wife said she saw a black shadow above his left shoulder and I said I did not have a good feeling about him.

It soon became evident that the man had rage and anger in him. The last event was a Warrior Circle to work out aggression. The Shaman normally used a plastic club and spear but he had seen the real articles in the house and decided to use them.

My turn came. I held the weapons and said the pen was mightier than the sword. This angered the demon in the man. The guy raged at me with curses and threats. I faced him calmly and said nothing. The man advanced on me and tried to take the weapons away from me. I held them tightly, while the man shouted at me. A voice in my head said “kill him”. The demon was trying to get two victims with one thrust – a stark demonstration of demonic suggestion.

The man took his turn but was not allowed the weapons. The man started a Buddhist prayer ritual. I challenged the man, asking where his aggression had gone.

A few months later we met him and his family at a permaculture course in north Johannesburg. He approached me with a smile and thanked me for changing his life. He said I had shown him that violence was not the right path and having changed, his wife and children were now close and loving.

The man’s wife came to me and said that her husband had come back from that course a very different person. Demons prompt evil and lethal actions. One must resist and have a good moral grounding. While writing this I just watched a video about two men who tortured and murdered many men, women and a baby. Was it demon possession or insanity?

  • Helped by Angels

2008 – I visited Lesotho for four days to extend my South African visa. I hiked up a very high peak by myself. I had no map and just followed my instincts.

I only met two men plowing a terrace with an ox and two others a little further on. After the peak I descended but had problems finding the river crossing. I was standing wondering which way to go when a man appeared. He offered to guide me to where I could pick up a path. An angel in human form.

After I crossed the river, I rested. I wondered whether I should take the left track or the right track. A young girl appeared and offered to guide me. I said I was okay to find my way back, but she sat down and waited for me. She led me up the side of the mountain. In many of the rocky spots, there was no sign of a path, so I was grateful for the help. The light was just starting to fade as I got to the lodge.

2010 Gate Code – Cathy and I arrived at a place of spirit on a beautiful summer day but needed a code to open the gate. No one answered our phone calls for the code. Honking the horn got no response. We were preparing to leave when a guy who was walking down the road stopped and asked me if I needed the code. He gave me the code and we were able to go in.

The surprised owners said that should not have happened and did not know who it could be. It was rare to have people on the street. They did not give out the code easily since it was a rural neighborhood with a large township nearby.

It seems that small miracles can happen in such a way that they seem ‘ordinary’.

  1. Knew a Biker would Die

A month after my late wife’s death, I was returning to Johannesburg from Witbank. It was early afternoon and the traffic was moderate. The weather was clear, calm, and sunny. I was not in a hurry, so I was idly thinking about a variety of things in my life. Just outside the suburban sprawl that surrounded Johannesburg, there was some road construction with concrete barriers and only three lanes.

I was driving in the middle lane when three motorbikes passed me. They were not travelling at the high-speed many bikers prefer. There was nothing out of the ordinary. Suddenly, I had a thought that hit me like a flashing roadside warning. “The last biker is going to crash and die just up ahead!”

The best way to describe the emotion accompanying that thought was that it was like suddenly realizing that one had left a pot of oil on the stove with the plate on high and had forgotten to turn it off. One ‘KNOWS’ that it will catch fire and burn the house down.

I slowed down. I did not want to drive over the biker. I came to a stop behind the cars that had passed me. Each car drove by the biker and his bike in the middle of the middle lane. The biker lay dead on his back. It must have just happened. There were no signs of an accident, and the people crying on the side of the road had not moved him to the side. It is likely he died of a heart attack.

In the next two weeks I passed two other accidents where a biker had died.

  1. Haunted by a Poltergeist

I started caretaking an organic farm in De Rust in the South African Karoo. I wrote an email to my late wife about all the strange problems that were happening daily. One problem a day, every day.

The incidents involved ants, bats, birds, porcupines, baboons, scorpions, spiders, bees, wasps, and mosquitoes that swarmed, bit, stung, and caused damage, making life a hassle. Numerous equipment failures, each one due to a tiny but critical failure of a component. Small accidents, where things fell off a shelf or table onto my foot, or I got a cut.

While writing the email, I had to deal with a Cape Cobra slithering close to me and around the house, the lights failing and the cobra hiding in a house with no inside doors.

I went to pay for a ticket for a broken taillight at the local police station. They told me about the horror of a man’s suicide there. His girlfriend had ended the relationship. She accidentally saw the photographs in the file and was traumatized. That night at a pizzeria I chatted with a woman who told me about the man who had killed himself right outside the bedroom shortly before we arrived.

I sat in the house in the dark and told the ghost he had my attention. We could “chat” through my thoughts and feelings. The ghost wanted me to make things right with his friend who discovered the body. A whole sequence of serendipitous events followed.

I called the woman and she told me more about the man who was forty-three years of age. She had to come out to the farm with a friend to burn the seats and carpets of the bakkie after the police removed the body. An hour later, I got a call from a Jewish man I met at the pizza place. He suggested he could pick me up to visit his farm to talk about sustainability.

I told him I needed to speak to the man who found Vernon’s body and he said he would take me to him. The gate had a lock on it. We called the man’s cell phone and we could hear it ringing at the back of the house. We shouted for him because the man was obviously home. The noise brought out the woman next door, who came to the fence. Only then did Vernon’s friend appear.

The woman was the girlfriend and said the man was haunting her and her mother with strange happenings, noises, and shivery feelings. She joined us. I told them about all the strange happenings and my ‘communication’. I said that the dead man wanted to apologize and did not realize the trauma the discovery of his body had caused. He wanted peace for everyone and thought people would find him lying as if sleeping – as one sees in movies. The friend asked me to explain.

I said the man’s spirit watched the decay in a week of hot sun and saw all the distress. I told his girlfriend to let him go and let him be in peace and he would move on. The ghost did not blame her. The friend accepted the apology from the ghost.

When I got back to the farm, I had a sense of peace and quiet. I could hear the clock ticking. A gentle breeze blew around the house, making it nice and cool. Most of the nuisance events stopped.

  1. The Pandemic Message

Sunday morning, 26 April 2009 – A psychic had told me 6 months earlier to go to the South Island in New Zealand and something of global importance would happen. No other details. She gave me a rough indication of the place. I was in New Zealand taking care of personal matters and considered a trip to the fiords. Everything just fell into place, including an inexpensive airline ticket.

I sat on a bench overlooking Lake Te Anau which had the closest accommodation for ordinary tourists visiting the spectacular fjords. Everything was quiet and still. I was alone with my thoughts, as there was no one on the lake, or walking by the lake. The tourist center was right there, and the town bordered on that part of the lake. To have no one around was very unusual.

It then seemed to me that I was having a conversation in my head – with God. It was not a voice outside my head nor inside my head. It lasted about twenty minutes.

A simple summary of the message was: “Mankind is unable to control or limit the population. Overpopulation is destroying the resources, ecosystems, and diversity of planet Earth, and this is indirectly making greed and corruption much worse. Hence, God is going to intervene by introducing, or allowing, a pandemic to reduce the global population substantially.”

Two confirmations. A group of students with swine flu had flown into Christchurch while I was there. Other students were close to me on the North Shore. I knew the pandemic was not the swine flu, but they were confirmations.

I researched pandemics. High death tolls but the elites survived by avoidance. The Roman Plagues assisted Christianity, the Black Death brought democracy, and the Spanish Flu stopped WW1. Clearly there was no great die-off. But it has caused problems that may amplify. God may simply stretch out the timeframe.

Currently there are anecdotes about COVID vaccine illnesses. The threat of a virulent strain lingers. Global population is decreasing. It appears that cell phones are one culprit.

Catching Wine Glasses

There were two incidents that were both unusual and contrary to physics. They showed how people deal with observing them. At about the age of 20 I was standing with three other people in a circle when the lady opposite me had her wine glass slip out of her hand. In the blink of an eye I bent down, reached out, caught the glass and handed it to her in one smooth movement. No one said anything for a couple of minutes as they processed what they saw. They concluded that it was not physically possible and it was clear that they dismissed it and deleted it from their memory as if it didn’t happen.

The second incident occurred about 12 years ago when I was seated at a table at a wedding. On the other side were three ladies in their best dresses. As I was enthusiastically discussing some topic, I waved my hand and I hit my half full wine glass that had red wine in it and knocked it flying towards the ladies. You can imagine the instant shock of realizing three ladies were about to have red wine spilled over them at the worst possible time. Once more, in the blink of an eye, I reached forward, grabbed the glass and scooped the wine that had flown out of the glass in such a way that not a drop was spilled. Then I put the glass down. The same thing happened. Silence, disbelief. And dismissal.
